The DZO Arles Lustre is the Arles prime with a different personality, and you can hire the DZO Arles Lustre Prime Set from Yellow Cactus in Stoke Newington, N16 for £280 a day.
DZO took the optics of its Arles primes and gave them a new Amber Halation coating and a Desert Gold finish. Bring a light source into frame and you get warm, golden flares and a soft bloom around the highlights. Keep it out and the lenses stay sharp edge to edge, even wide open. Contrast is gentler than the standard Arles, skin looks softer, and the 16-blade iris gives round, creamy bokeh. DZO pitches them at indie films, period drama, music videos and fashion work, and that's mostly what our crews take them out for.
What's in our set:
Each lens is PL or EF mount, so tell us which camera you're putting them on when you order. They have a 46.5mm image circle, which covers full frame and Vista Vision sensors, and every lens has the same 95mm front, so your matte box stays put between lens changes.

Lustre or standard Arles? We stock both. The DZO Arles Prime Set is the clean, neutral version: five lenses from 25mm to 100mm at T1.4, for a lower day rate. Pick the Lustre when you want the flare and glow in camera, and the standard Arles when you'd rather keep the look neutral and style it in the grade. You're welcome to come in and try them side by side at the counter.
