Hire the DZO Pavo 2x anamorphic prime set in London from £250/day: 28, 40 and 75mm T2.1, Super 35, PL or EF, in a Peli case. Collect from N16.
The DZO Pavo is a true 2x anamorphic prime set, and you can hire the DZO Pavo 2x anamorphic set from Yellow Cactus in Stoke Newington, N16 for £250 a day.
What's in the set:
Why crews pick the Pavo: a 2x squeeze gives you the classic anamorphic look, with oval bokeh, horizontal flares and a wide 2.39:1 frame, at a day rate that makes anamorphic realistic for music videos, shorts and commercials. The close focus is unusually good for anamorphic glass.
Best on a 4:3 sensor: shoot 4:3 on the ARRI Alexa Mini for the classic 2.39:1 frame. It works on the RED Komodo too, though its wider 17:9 sensor gives an extra-wide frame you'll want to crop. On 16:9 sensors a 2x squeeze gives a very wide frame, so many crews pick our 1.5x Arcana set for full-frame and 16:9 bodies instead. Our Pavo vs Arcana guide goes through the trade-offs.
More anamorphic options are on our anamorphic lens hire page, and every DZO set is on our DZO lens hire page.
Collection and returns are from Unit H1, 2 Leswin Place, London N16 7NJ, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. If it's your first hire, please register a production account before ordering. Call 020 7898 3322 or email rentals@weareyellowcactus.com.
The Pavo 2x anamorphic set (28, 40 and 75mm) is £250 a day at Yellow Cactus. Three days are charged as 2.5 days and Monday to Friday as 3.5 days.
Our Pavo set is a Super 35 design. For full-frame anamorphic, look at the DZO Arcana 1.5x set, which covers full frame.
Super 35 cameras with a 4:3 or open gate mode, such as the ARRI Alexa Mini, get the most from a 2x squeeze. It also works on the RED Komodo.
Pavo is a 2x squeeze for Super 35 and the strongest anamorphic look. Arcana is a 1.5x squeeze that covers full frame and suits 16:9 sensors. Our Pavo vs Arcana guide compares them.
