Build a Sony FX6 hire package for interviews, documentary and branded content: lenses, sound, support, light, power and settings, from one London counter.
The Sony FX6 is the camera we send out most for documentaries and interviews, and for good reason: built-in variable ND, dual base ISO, two XLR inputs and timecode let a small crew light, record sound and ride exposure without stopping. But the body is only part of the job. Here's how we'd build an FX6 package for the shoots it gets booked for most, using kit you can collect from our counter in Stoke Newington, N16.
Our FX6 doesn't go out as a bare body. The kit includes the Sony EVF, top handle and side grip, a Tilta cage with a 15mm baseplate and rods, a V-mount extension, 512GB and 260GB CFexpress Type A cards with a reader, mains power, cables and bags. So the decisions are lenses, sound, support, light and power.
Everything above is on our full kit list, so the whole package comes from one counter. Our sliding scale applies to the whole order: three weekdays are charged as 2.5 days, four as 3 days and Monday to Friday as 3.5 days, and a weekend counts as one day. Collect after 4pm the day before and return by 11am the day after without extra charge.
Still choosing between the cameras? Read our FX6 vs FX3 guide. Kit is collected from Unit H1, 2 Leswin Place, London N16 7NJ, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. First hire? Please register a production account before you order. Questions: 020 7898 3322 or rentals@weareyellowcactus.com.

The Sony PZ 28-135mm f/4 servo zoom is the classic one-lens doc option. For a cinema look, the DZO Catta Ace zooms cover the full sensor with our PL to E-mount adapter.
Yes. The FX6 has two XLR inputs, so you can run a shotgun mic and a wireless lav straight into the camera.
The Sony FX3. It shares S-Log3 and Sony's colour science, so the two cut together easily.
Usually not. The FX6 has a built-in electronic variable ND from 1/4 to 1/128.
